There are all kinds of movies being churned out in the entertainment industry. Supernatural movies are popular and seemingly a hit of any kind will spawn a series of knock-offs. For instance, the success of a movie like Superman will result in studios producing movies like Spawn or Cat woman. Not all the resulting movies are successful, but there is always a studio willing to try and recapture the magic of another movies success. Some of the funniest movies of recent time have had marijuana at the core of the picture. A drug that is viewed as harmless by many has resulted in some quality films. Here are a couple of popular movies centered around the drug and its effects.
1) Half Baked- This film starring Dave Chappelle and Jim Breuer is well known and cherished in the marijuana community. When their friend is locked up in jail, these two potheads along with another friend embark on a quest to free their friend. Naturally, they come up with the idea of selling marijuana in order to make enough money to post their friends bail. The movie is not only full of scenes with the main characters smoking the drug, but numerous pot references and innuendos are used throughout the film.
2.) Pineapple Express- Starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, this hilarious film has endeared itself to the potheads of America. While Seth Rogen’s characters typically involved pot use in one way or another, this is an adventure film as well as a comedy which sees this duo being hunted after they unwittingly witness a murder and smoke the wrong pot. This movie is full of funny banter that potheads are reciting verbatim after repeat viewings.
